When only one Orro Switch is installed in a multiway setup (also known as Simple Multiway), it will appear and function like a single Switch in the Orro App. The traditional switches can be toggled on and off and the Orro Switch will respond accordingly. However, in a Simple Multiway configuration, the Orro Switch must be installed in the Load switch location.
For information on how to install the Orro Switch in a Simple Multiway configuration, please refer to the Installation Guide.
Finding the Load Location
In order to determine the load location, you will need to test the wires currently attached to your existing light switch. Before disconnecting any wires, make sure you take photos of your switch connection. Using the existing connection, you can get a good idea of your Line or Load, Ground, and Traveller wires. We recommend labeling the wires as soon as you determine the type based on the diagram below. Now you can more easily identify whether the wire connected to the black screw is a Line or Load wire.
If you need additional assistance and have the appropriate tools and take the necessary precautions, please refer to the following YouTube tutorial to see how to test for the Line and Load wires.
